KKS: Challenge #289, the Beach!

Happy weekend!  It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Kraftin Kimmie challenge!!!  This week's Hostess with da Mostess is Miss Jessie and she's challenged us to make something "BEACHY"!  I paired up the brand new SWEET SUMMER SENTIMENTS set along with the TOTALLY TUBULAR set to make a couple of Project Life cards!

I took a little different approach to these cards.  You may have realized by now that I'm kind of a SIMPLE STORIES junkie (shhhhhh!).  Anyway, I just got some of the NEW Summer Vibes goodies from the Krafty store so I put them to good use!  Both of the cards came from the Summer Vibes SNAP! set.  For the larger card, above, it was just the plain grid plus the umbrella, so I colored up Lucas, fussy-cut him and popped him up.  The "Summer Time" sent is from the SWEET SUMMER SENTIMENTS set, I just stamped it on some red to make a tag, it's also popped up.  The 3 sentiment strips are from the Summer Vibes sticker set, I just picked 3 and staggered them in the "white space".  Oh, yea… those enamel dots are also part of the same collection!

This card is one of the smaller sizes.  One of the shapes in the "Bits & Pieces" part of the collection was this great "arrow" shape, but I wanted the design to be a different color and I wanted my own sentiment (again from the SWEET SUMMER SENTIMENTS set, so I traced the arrow shape onto the piece of paper I liked and stamped my sentiment on it… perfect fit!!!!!!!!!  I also added a few enamel dots and a twine bow.  Yup, that twine is also from the Krafty store!!!!!!!!  I really LOVE the way these cards turned out!!!    Well that's it for me, be sure to pop on over to the Kraftin Kimmie blog to get the deets on this week's challenge as well as linkies to more DT goodies!
