I had a great time playing in the loft today!!! For this tag I inked up the new Merry Christ-mouse by Kraftin Kimmie and finally got to play with some new MFT Stencils!!! A while back MFT contacted me asking if I'd be interested in giving a Product Review for their stencils, after I picked myself up off of the floor I JUMPED at the opportunity! One of the GREAT things about Stencils is how flexible they are, I don't mean the template but how many things you can do with them. For today, I kept it basic… I used some Viva Ferro in Silver to jazz up a plain Glassine Envelope for a Gift Card. The great thing about this is that I can buy a bunch of plain envelopes and then make it match whatever I want!! No more running out of a fave color or design!
I'm using the Large Polka Dot stencil here. So to start I taped down my envelope with some Washi Tape, then taped the template placing it right where I wanted it. I could have used some Washi Tape to "tape off" any of the dots to customize the polka dot look… because I was covering up so much of the envelope with my image & sentiment I chose to cover them all in Silver.
Using an old cake frosting spatula, I spread the Silver Ferro all over the template. These are raised only slightly.
And voila! I LOVE this look! This is going to be a "must-do" for Christmas gifts!!! I LOVED how easy the Stencil was to use and it cleaned up easily!!! MFT has such an amazing variety of stencils, they really are ONE STOP STENCIL SHOPPING!!!
To finish off my envelope I added Stocking Mouse from Merry Christ-Mouse and a sentiment also from this set, then took a couple of Red Sequins and topped off a few Silver dots… This really was a quick project!
