TRHD: May Release Inspiration Hop, Day 2

Happy Tuesday yall!! We're smack-dab in the middle of Release week at The Rabbit Hole Designs. This week's May release includes 5 stamp sets, 1 die set and two stencils. For my card today I used the NEW Hippo Botanical set along with the NEW Amanda Stencil.

This set really has 2 gorgeous main images (you can scroll down to see the entire set), but I had my mind set on using the water lilies in the set with some watercoloring. So I started off with the Amanda stencil…. I placed it on some apple green cs and went over it with some green Oxide Ink and cut it to size. Next I used some water color paper and some shimmerz paints. Once I got the "pond" the colors I wanted I "tore" it to shape. I wanted a few of the leaf fronds in front of the pond so I used an exact-o knife to cut along a few leaves then tucked the pond behind it.

Next up I colored up a couple of each of the Lily Pads from the stamp set and cut them out. It's a little hard to see, but I added some silver gel glitter pen to a few of them. The Lily Pads are popped up on the pond as is the sentiment (which is from the Turtle Botanical set).
