Hey yall! Happy Friday-eve, it's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks challenge! This week's Hostess is Miss Nance and she's given us a fun technique to play with… Bleaching! Now before your nose clinches thinking about the smell, you should know… I cheated! I have a horrible reaction to bleaching (like breathing related), so the only bleach we have in the house is a bleach pen, lol. I opted for a more "faux bleaching" technique, I used some white Pigment ink (Gina K's is the absolute best!) and some white EP.
I inked up the 3 flower stems from the new Pretty Peonies set (from SugarPea Designs), I have BIG plans for this set!!! After inking and embossing the flowers, I mixed up some Lindy's Magicals (Cosmopolitan Pink & Fuzzy Navel Peach). I just mixed a bit of Magicals with water and took a fat-ish brush to some watercolor paper. I did the lighter color first, covering most of the paper, then added a few swipes of the darker. I REALLY miss playing with these Magicals!, though this was just a most basic application. I used the Angled die from the Card Front Element Builder die set (SugarPea Designs) on the water colored panel (can you see the "stitching" on there?). I also used it on some plain white cs, then I added some Red Sticky Tape to the edge and buried it in pretty Gold Glitter!! The birthday sentiment on the front is also from the Pretty Peonies set. I love the "muddied peach" & Gold palette on this!! Welp, that's it, that's my "faux" Bleaching Technique card! There are so many things you can to get the look of bleaching! Be sure to swing by each of the Crafty Chick's blogs to see what they did with bleach. Don't forget to link up your creation on the challenge blog, we can't wait to see what you come up with!! Thanks for popping by, see ya soon!
