4CC: It’s time for Mardi Gras!

Eeeeeekkkkkkkkk!  I am sooooo much in LOVE with this card!  Ok, so first off, I am back for week 2 Guesting with the fabulous ladies at 4 Crafty Chicks!  This week's hostess is Nance, and her challenge is Mardi Gras/Party!!  I have to admit at first I was stumped!  I mean, there's the obvious colors then I was stuck…  Well, the little cutie poppin' the bubbly is Anniversary Winnie (Polkadoodles), and she's kinda perfect for this theme. 

For the background panel I had loads of fun!!!!  I did some smooshing with a few Distress Inks.  I did NOT use Oxides for this as I wanted it brighter and not "muddled" looking.  Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed, and Lucky Clover were perfect Mardi Gras colors!!!  Then I used a Tim Holtz Mixed Media die, and carefully saved each of those pieces cut out, then I ran the die through twice more giving myself 2 more "sets" of those shapes.  I stacked the colored pieces on the top, which gave me this fun popped up look!  Finally I just added a few sequins and a couple of bows on the top.  I am really, really happy with how this turned out!  Well that's it for me, I hope you'll joins and play along with this really great challenge!!!  Thanks Nance for the mojo boost!!
