KKS: August Peeks, You’re a Hoot!

Happy weekend!!!! Have you been following the Kraftin Kimmie peeks the past few days?? Fun goodies, huh?! Today the Krafty Girls & Guests are peeking a super cute new set from Melissa called, YOU'RE A HOOT! Now back to new stuff… For my peek, I made a bookmark, I honestly needed a NEW one, lol!

So I started off with a Tim Holtz tag, I could die punched a tag, but I was too excited and antsy to get to the next step, lol. Next I used some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, in Cornflower Blue. OH MY GOSH, this stuff is fabulous! Anyway, I dry brushed on my tag making a kind of woven texture look. I ran 2 strips of Washi across the bottom, both in a Coral and Gold Shimmer (it's kind of hard to make the colors out in the photo). Then I colored the books with Copics, but I paper pieced the owls. I couldn't resist those HUGE eyes, so I stamped them again in white and added some cool gray shadows, then cut them out. Those pieces are just adhered flat onto the tag. The sentiment is from BETSY BOOKLOVER. stamped in black. Because of the Mousse background it muted the black ink some, which was perfect! Tie on a small handful of ribbons on the top and BOOM! Pretty bookmark!
