Happy weekend!!  Today the Krafty girls are inking up another new Sentiment set called WORDS OF INSPIRATION!  I thought I'd make some Project Life cards!

This is the 2nd one I made, but I think I like it better than the first.  For this card I used a stencil & Gelatos and a Resist Technique.  For the stencil part I used some VersaMark and clear embossing powder.  After the card cooled off, I grabbed my three Gelatos and started coloring and blending (with my finger).  After I got the blending the way I wanted it, I used a baby wipe to remove the excess Gelato… this really makes the embossed part POP.  I stamped my sentiment on a tag and attached it.  The flowers are dies, and the center of the middle flower is Purple Stickles.  The patterned papers are from the Just Sayin pad by MME (available at the Krafty Store).

I'm still learning and experimenting with the whole Mixed Media thing, and it's hard for me to get used to keeping things flat… which Project Life cards need to be, lol.  For this tag I stamped the sentiment in Black Pigment ink and then embossed it with black EP… I LOVE how crisp the sentiment turned out even embossed!  After the sentiment was all set, I grabbed my 3 Gelato colors and started coloring and blending (again with my fingers).  After blending I used a baby wipe again to remove the excess to get my card ready for some Embossing Paste!  I used a polka stencil and applied the Embossing Paste… I wanted white polka dots.  I did die cut a label shape and masked off my sentiment so there wouldn't be any Paste on it.  I added some die cut hearts and an XOXO tag, some Sequins and some purple stickles in the middles.  OH! and a little black bow 🙂  This current Mixed Media Mojo & the Color Throwdown challenges also inspired me!  There are several great sentiments in this set and they are "pretty" enough to use alone or combine with another image!  Well that's all for me today, happy hoppin' and hope to see you tonight at the Release Party on the Krafty Friends fb page!

  1. A great way to use these sentiments for your project life or scrapbooks. Both of these cards are super fun with the sentiment being the focus.
