Kraftin Kimmie: January Krafty Hop…

IMG_9982

Sooooooo, have you totally fallen in love with this month’s release??  If you can’t decide which ones to order, trust me… you NEED them all, honestly, you do 😉  This is Lucas and he is from the Love is the Best Medicine set.  Don’t ya just wanna give him a hug and an ice cream cone?  Well, Mr Lucas is colored with Copics and I tried a little something new, I used some Pastel Pencils to add some shading!  Thanks to Kim O’Connell and her amazing coloring for inspiring me to try this (click here to see Tobi Crawfords tutorial on using these for shading).  I did cheat a little and instead of using black, I used a dark blue, deep red and a couple of grays, and black :).  I just LOVE the way he looks!  Thanks Kim & Tobi 🙂

If you haven’t yet gone shopping, then what are you waiting for??? Oh yeah, I mean besides the end of the hop 😉

**ALSO we are having a Krafty Guest Contest right NOW! So if you’d like to submit, please check out this POST HERE!  Not that I am anywhere NEAR ready to give up my Guest spot, BUT it is amazingly fun so you really should enter!!!

Now let’s get hoppin’ and shoppin’!!

  1. Hi Tangii,
Adorable card and your coloring is excellent. Thank you for the links to the blogs regarding the shading with charcoal pencils. I have sent an e-mail to Kim requesting more info on what soft charcoal pencils to purchase, i.e., what number, color – there are so many choices out there.
    Hugs, Kathy

  2. Hey Kathy!! Thanks so much 🙂 Kim used a different brand than I did and did her’s a little different (I’ll let her tell ya). I used Faber-Castell Pastel Pencils and because I’m not as brave nor as good as Kim, I grabbed a few dark colors besides black (I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it well). On this card I used 157 (dk blue), 199 (black), 192 (dk red), 273 (warm grey). Good luck, can’t wait to see what you make!! 🙂
